CEMRIAC Spring Movie Festival 2024 – Competition Rules
1. Entries will be accepted from any IAC member, an affiliated club, or any member of an affiliated club. Entries must be the original work of the entrant or club and have been produced within five years of the festival date.
The closing date for entries is 12th May 2024.
The Festival will be held on-line using the Zoom platform on 26th May 2024.
2. Entries must not have been shown at any previous CEMRIAC competition or festival.
3. Entries must not have been produced for profit or commercial gain. Any sponsorship must be declared.
4. It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure that permission or clearance has been obtained for any copyright material used in their entry.
5. The maximum permitted running time for any entry is 20 minutes. In the case of multiple entries by one entrant, the total duration of all entries must not exceed 20 minutes.
6. Entries are acceptable in the following order of preference :
(i) Upload your entry to YouTube or Vimeo and include a link to it in the email sent
under item 7
(ii) Send a file (eg MP4) of the entry by Google Drive or We Transfer to the email
address in item 7
(iii) Send a disc, memory card or USB flash drive containing the file to :
Geof Caudwell, Festival Secretary, 2 Kernel Close, Littleover, Derby DE23 3SA .
Any media sent will only be returned if a suitable SAE is provided on submission.
7. Send an email to [email protected] with the following details of each of your entries :
Name of entrant, title of entry, running time, format and a link if uploaded. For multiple entries, indicate the priority of each one for showing.
8. If it is necessary to limit the number of entries shown at the festival, the priority stated for multiple entries (item 7) will be used to determine which are shown. Additionally, entries may be excluded after pre-judging. Excluded movies will be eligible for entry in future CEMRIAC competitions if they comply with the rules at that time.
9. Winners will receive certificates.
10. The decision of the Festival Secretary regarding eligibility for entry is final.
11. Entry to the competition implies agreement with these rules.
